What artwork files do you accept?
Clear roll labels require vector files only (AI, EPS, SVG). This allows us to accurately place the white ink layer where needed for optimal colour vibrancy.

What is vector artwork?
Vector files are created using paths rather than pixels, which means they can be scaled to any size without losing quality. This gives you sharper prints and cleaner cut lines compared to raster images like JPG or PNG.

What if I don't have a vector file?
If your artwork isn't in vector format, see our "Convert My File To Vector" product. We can convert your design to a vector file suitable for clear label printing.

Can I use Canva to create my design?
Yes — simply download your file as a SVG with a transparent background. Note: Canva may export some images or certain elements as JPG rather than vector. We'll notify you if this affects your file quality and discuss options before printing.

Do I need to add the white ink layer myself?
No — we'll add the white ink layer to your vector files at no cost. However, if you prefer to set it up yourself, visit the artwork help section on the product page for instructions on how to add the white ink layer correctly.

What is a white ink underlay?
A white ink underlay is a layer of opaque white ink printed beneath your design colours. This ensures your colours appear vibrant and true-to-design, even on dark or coloured surfaces. You can choose a full underlay (white ink beneath your entire design) or a sectional underlay (white ink only in specific areas, leaving other parts transparent).

Can you fix or set up my artwork?
For print-ready vector files (AI, EPS, SVG), we add white ink layers and cut lines at no cost. For files needing resizing, bleed, or setup work, we offer a "Make My File Print Ready" service. For design modifications, see our "Convert My File To Vector" product or contact us for a custom quote.

Do I need to supply cut lines?
No. If needed, we'll create cut lines for you at no charge.

Will I see a proof before printing?
When placing your order, you'll select whether you have print-ready files, need file setup assistance, or need a new file created. Based on your selection, you'll see how many design proofs are included. For print-ready artwork with a proof requested, we'll add cut lines and the white ink layer but won't make adjustments to your design. If your file isn't set up correctly, we'll notify you so you can make the necessary changes.

What is a proof?
A proof is a digital preview of exactly how your label will look when printed. It shows the final design, colors, sizing, cut lines, and white ink layer placement, allowing you to review and approve everything before production begins. This ensures the finished product matches your expectations.

When will I receive my proof?
Your proof will be emailed to you within 24-48 hours of placing your order. Please keep an eye on your inbox and check your junk mail folder in case it's filtered there. If you haven't received your proof within this timeframe, please contact us directly. No work will move into production until the proof is approved via return email.

Why are Clear Roll Labels better for tiny text than vinyl stickers?
The synthetic material used for roll labels holds fine detail exceptionally well. The rigid, non-stretch surface provides a stable base for printing, resulting in sharper, crisper reproduction of small text and intricate designs compared to vinyl.

What material are Clear Roll Labels made from?
Clear roll labels are made from transparent general-purpose synthetic material. This material is tear and water-resistant with a rigid, non-stretch finish, making it ideal for product labeling where consistency and precision matter.

What surfaces can roll labels adhere to?
Clear roll labels adhere well to most smooth, clean, flat surfaces including glass, rigid plastic, metal, and coated cardboard. They look particularly striking on glass bottles, jars, containers, and packaging where you want the transparency to be a feature. For best results, ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust or oils before application. They work best on uniform surfaces — care should be taken with non-uniform or highly squeezable products.

Are these labels removable?
While roll labels feature strong permanent adhesive designed for long-lasting application, they can be removed. However, depending on the surface and how long they've been applied, some adhesive residue may remain. They're not designed for repositioning once applied.

How does the white ink affect the appearance?
The white ink underlay determines how opaque and vibrant your colours appear. A full white ink underlay makes your design completely opaque with bold, vibrant colours — ideal for dark or variable surfaces. A sectional white ink underlay allows you to selectively choose which parts have the white base and which remain transparent, creating a mix of opaque and see-through elements in your design.

What's the difference between synthetic and vinyl?
Synthetic labels are more rigid and don't stretch, making them better suited for flat product surfaces. They also hold fine detail better than vinyl, perfect for small text. Vinyl stickers have flexibility and are better for curved surfaces and outdoor UV exposure.

What finish is available?
Clear roll labels are available with gloss varnish only. They're printed on 2-year synthetic material.

Will the colors fade over time?
Clear roll labels are not UV stable and are designed for indoor product labeling or short-term outdoor use. They will fade over time with UV exposure. For UV-durable outdoor applications, explore our Clear Vinyl Stickers instead.

Can these labels withstand exposure to oils and chemicals?
Clear roll labels are tear and water-resistant, making them suitable for general moisture exposure. However, they are not recommended for regular exposure to harsh chemicals or essential oils as they are not laminated. For products requiring enhanced protection against oils, chemicals, or essential oils, we recommend our laminated vinyl stickers instead.

Can I use these labels on food packaging?
Yes, clear roll labels are suitable for food and beverage packaging for non-direct contact applications. This means they're perfect for outer packaging, bottles, jars, and containers, but should not be in direct contact with food products.

Will these labels work on frozen products?
Yes — roll labels can withstand service temperatures from -20°C to 80°C, making them suitable for frozen products. However, labels must be applied to dry, room temperature products before freezing. Do not apply labels to cold or frozen surfaces, as the adhesive requires a minimum application temperature of 5°C.

What sizes and shapes are available?
Clear roll labels are available in set sizes for Circle, Square, and Rectangle shapes. Custom sizing is also available — select the closest larger size from the dropdown and enter your required measurements, or contact us for a quote. Please note that custom sizes are not machine compatible.

How do I care for products with these labels on them?
Clear roll labels are not dishwasher safe. For cleaning, hand-wash items gently and avoid using abrasive scrubbers directly on the label surface to maintain the best appearance over time.

What happens if I don't use the labels within a year?
To obtain optimal performance, we recommend using roll labels within one year of the date of manufacture. After this time, adhesive performance may gradually decrease. Store unused labels in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maximize shelf life.

If I order multiple different product will my entire order arrive together?
If you order multiple different products, they may be dispatched separately as each item is completed. This means you might receive your order in multiple packages at different times. Each dispatch will be sent with tracking information so you can monitor all your deliveries.

What's the minimum order quantity?
Roll labels have a minimum order of 500 labels. This makes them cost-effective for small to medium production runs while ensuring quality and consistency across your batch.
