While our stickers feature strong permanent adhesive designed for long-lasting application, they can be removed. However, depending on the surface and how long they've been applied, some adhesive residue may remain. They're not designed for repositioning once applied. Will the colors fade over time? All stickers will fade over time depending on UV exposure. Our stickers are printed with genuine Roland eco-sol inks that are UV stable and fade-resistant. The 2-year vinyl has a life expectancy of approximately 2 years and will fade faster as the ink is not protected by lamination. The laminated 5-year vinyl offers significantly greater color protection due to its UV-overlaminate layer, making it the best choice if long-term color vibrancy is essential for your application. For print-ready artwork with a proof requested, we'll add cut lines but won't make adjustments to your design. Yes — pre-coloured vinyl is fully waterproof and offers the highest water resistance of all our products. It's UV stable and designed to withstand constant exposure to saltwater, rain, sun, and marine conditions.

Will the colours fade over time?
All vinyl will fade over time with prolonged exposure to UV and the elements — however pre-coloured vinyl offers the best fade resistance of all our sticker products. Because the colour runs through the vinyl itself rather than being printed on top, it takes significantly longer to show signs of fading compared to digitally printed alternatives. For most vehicles, you can expect excellent colour retention well beyond the life of a printed sticker.

How long do they last?
Standard marine vinyl lasts up to 5–7 years outdoors, while printed and laminated vinyl lasts up to 5 years outdoors. Actual lifespan can vary depending on UV exposure, hull surface colour (dark surfaces absorb more heat), and storage conditions.

Are boat name stickers suitable for all surfaces?
They adhere best to fibreglass, gelcoat and plastic surfaces. They do not stick well to rough textured surfaces, oxidised or chalky gelcoat, silicone-treated areas, or low surface energy plastics. These stickers are not suitable for ribbed surfaces, textured trims, or any surface that curves in two directions simultaneously (such as a compound curve). This is a print and cut vinyl, not a wrapping vinyl, and will not conform to complex surface profiles. If you're unsure whether your surface is suitable, please contact us before ordering and we'll be happy to advise.
