FAQ - Product Information

Stickers & Materials

Q: What is the minimum order for stickers?  There is no minimum or maximum quantity that can be ordered. However, every product has a minimum order cost.

Q: What materials do you work with?  We work with Cut/Transfer Vinyl, Printed Vinyl, ACM, and Banner Material, just to name a few!

Q: What is the difference between cut stickers & printed stickers?  Cut stickers are created by cutting a design out of solid-color vinyl, resulting in a single-color design with no background, while printed stickers involve printing a design directly onto vinyl, allowing for multiple colors, gradients, and intricate details.

Q: What are the differences in vinyl durability? We offer 5-year vinyl laminated which is best for vehicles, shopfronts, and when you require more durability from weather, cleaning and chemical exposure.  2-year vinyl is best for promotional stickers, product labeling and short term applications. Both are waterproof.

Q: How thick are your vinyl products?  Typical vinyl thickness is around 100 microns (about 80gsm), with UV laminate reaching about 120gsm.

Q: Do you have standard sizes for stickers?  Yes, standard sizes are available for regulation-based stickers and popular products like caravan/nipper names. Custom sizing is also available through custom settings.

Q: Are sizes for flags, A-frames, and pull-up banners customizable?  No, flags, A-frames, and pull-up banners have set sizes that are non-changeable.

Q: What is the minimum text height for cut stickers?  Cut/transfer stickers are cut with a tiny blade and then the excess vinyl (background & centres of lettering) is manually removed. When the text is too small either the cut simply doesn’t work or the centres of the letters are too small to be removed. The minimum suggested height for block, basic capital text is 20mm tall, but we can cut as small as 7mm.  Please email us directly with your file to be sure it can be cut out.

Q: What is the difference between Class 1 and Class 2 Reflective Vinyl?  Class 1 reflective has higher grade reflectivity with a honeycomb pattern, used for high visibility applications like road signs. Class 2 is used for non-critical reflective uses such as car parks and shopping centers and has a smooth appearance with no honeycomb pattern.

Q: How durable is Electrostatic Vinyl?  Electrostatic Vinyl has an outdoor life expectancy of 3 months, but the ink lasts 2-3 years.

Q: Is your vinyl Marine Grade / Weatherproof / UV Resistant?  Our 5 year laminated vinyl is UV rated for 5 years, Marine Grade, and waterproof.  Our 2 year vinyl is UV rated for 2 years and waterproof, we do not suggest using this for applications such as boat graphics.

Application & Compatibility

Q: What surfaces won't stickers stick to? Stickers won't stick to fabric, raptor liner finish, and certain low energy plastics.

Q: Will stickers adhere to jet ski surfaces?  Some new jet skis, such as the SeaDoo Spark, are molded from 'low surface energy' (LSE) plastics (polypropylene, polyethylene) that won't allow adhesives to stick properly. Please contact your dealer for further information and possible solutions, as Stickerman takes no responsibility if your vinyl graphics do not stick.

Q: Can stickers be applied to inflatable boats?  Stickers will stick to PVC but not inflatable materials like Hypalon.

Q: Do you offer air release stickers?  Yes, air release stickers are available. If you get bubbles, you can lightly tap them with your finger to release them, or the sun will work them out over a few days.
